Divisional Secretariat - Mallawapitiya

In order to further expand the services rendered by the Mallawapitiya Divisional Secretariat; Children's and Women's Affairs Unit; Buddhist Affairs and Cultural Division and the modernized Public Service Counters were opened for public services today (2024.07.12). In order to further expand the services rendered by the Mallawapitiya Divisional Secretariat; Children's and Women's Affairs Unit; Buddhist Affairs and Cultural Division and the modernized Public Service Counters were opened for public services today (2024.07.12). For sake of that, a pirith chanting and an almsgiving were conducted in the office main hall.

Along with the National 78th National Independence Day Celebration of Sri Lanka,Along with the National 78th National Independence Day Celebration of Sri Lanka,78th National Independence Day was celebrated on 04th February 2026, at Mallawapitiya Divisional Secretariat Premises under the theme 'Let's Build a New Country'. The ceremony was presided over by Mallawapitiya Divisional Secretary Mrs.Chamila Pathirana.

After hoisting the national flag, National Anthem was sang together with the officers of the Divisional Secretariat. After that the Divisional Secretary addressed the officers and emphasized the importance of freedom and how government officers should act in the current situation in the country.
Along with the Independence Day celebration, a tree planting program and a patriotic song concert were also organized at the Mallawapitiya Divisional Secretariat premises. Assistant Divisional Secretary, Assistant Director, Accountant, Administrative Officer and other Divisional Secretariat staff participated in this event.
